Content ID Eligibility Rules – SunoDistro
YouTube Content ID is a powerful system, but it is strictly limited to content owners who hold exclusive rights to their audio. To avoid rejections, disputes, or removals, it is important to understand the eligibility rules before enabling Content ID on SunoDistro.
This page explains who is eligible, what content is allowed, and what content is not accepted for Content ID.
Who Is Eligible for Content ID
Your music is eligible for YouTube Content ID through SunoDistro only if:
You own 100% exclusive rights to the audio recording
You control the rights to monetize the content on YouTube
The audio is not claimed or managed by any other party
Content ID is designed for original rights holders, not for shared or licensed content.
Audio Requirements (Must Follow)
To qualify for Content ID, your audio must meet all of the following conditions:
Fully original composition and recording
No third-party samples, loops, or sound libraries
No royalty-free, free-for-use, or licensed sounds
No stock music, background tracks, or preset packs
Even small samples or commonly used loops can make a track ineligible.
Beat & Instrumental Rules
Your track is not eligible for Content ID if it uses:
Leased beats
Free beats (even with permission)
Non-exclusive instrumentals
Beats purchased with shared licenses
Only custom or exclusively owned beats qualify for Content ID.
Distribution Exclusivity Rules
Your audio must be distributed only through SunoDistro for Content ID.
Content ID will be rejected if:
The same audio is delivered to Content ID by another distributor
The track was previously enrolled in Content ID elsewhere
Multiple parties are attempting to claim the same audio
Duplicate Content ID submissions are a common cause of rejection.
Content That Is NOT Eligible
The following content types are not allowed in Content ID:
Remixes without full ownership
Cover songs
Karaoke versions
DJ edits or mashups
Public domain recordings with modern remakes
White-noise, meditation, or sound-effect tracks
These formats do not qualify for Content ID protection.
Accuracy & Metadata Rules
All submitted information must be accurate and truthful:
Correct artist name
Correct ownership details
No misleading or false claims
Incorrect metadata can lead to claim disputes, takedowns, or permanent removal from Content ID.
Consequences of Ineligible Submissions
Submitting ineligible content may result in:
Content ID rejection
Removal of existing claims
Temporary or permanent Content ID suspension
Loss of monetization privileges
YouTube enforces strict policies, and misuse of Content ID can carry long-term penalties.
Important Reminders
Content ID applies only to audio usage on YouTube
Approval is not guaranteed and depends on eligibility
YouTube makes the final decision on Content ID acceptance
